Description
I remember the whole family pilling into the car with the travel trailer hitched up and off we would go. No seat belts to mess we could rome all over the car. We put Grandma and Auntie Kate back in the trailer ( it was legal back then ) to keep them away from Mom and Dad as long as possible. Let me see, normally we would try to cover at least 10 thousand miles in one week. We spent 99% of our days in the car and yes, that resulted in the drive by sight seeing tour of half of America. We would be so warn out from those vacations that it would take the rest of the summer to recover. Mom and Dad must have been really bad off because, you know, they were old. Now that I'm the old man, I don't know how they did it but, I treasure every second of those 10,000 mile vacations.

I love this mostly because i can relate we had a silver airstream and although dad never drove 10,000 miles it sure felt like it when i was a kid (late 50s early 60s)
