This image was created with a single photo of a B-17 bomber. My father shot it from the waist window of a B-24 while on an escort mission during WWII. Dad always encouraged my art skills but sadly died in the early 70s from cancer. As I was preparing for my first solo show I wanted him to be a part of it.
Using that photo, creating bombs, more bombers, an ominous rotating sky with a blue tint in Adobe Photoshop called TIME WARP.
Over the years Mike has dabbled in painting, sculpting & wood working as well as photography. Mike's turning point in his artistic abilities came when he learned how to use the dreaded computer in the mid 80s, then he could combine his love for art with his photographs. Mike's work has won numerous awards as well as being shown all over the country in galleries and museums. Now after 25 years of Commercial Photography in the High Point area, Mike now creates art full time, living just outside of Dunn North Carolina. "Welcome to the world as I see it. To smile, be happy and laugh as much as possible, that's what life should be about. I hope this shows through my work and makes you feel the same way." Mike

That's a fine tribute to your dad, Mike. I tried to do something similar to remember my Mom who also died of cancer about that same time. I painted Six Generations of Women life size and stood them up at a solo exhibit in 2009. If they only knew...or maybe.... they do.

Pretty Cool. My dad and mom always encouraged my work too. After the army I was able to live with them rent free(more or less) while getting my AA on the GI Bill. I did put in their front yard & retainer wall, and back yard by wheel barrow and shovel.
