About Mike McGlothlen

Over the years Mike has dabbled in painting, sculpting & wood working as well as photography. Mike's turning point in his artistic abilities came when he learned how to use the dreaded computer in the mid 80s, then he could combine his love for art with his photographs. Mike's work has won numerous awards as well as being shown all over the country in galleries and museums. Now after 25 years of Commercial Photography in the High Point area, Mike now creates art full time, living just outside of Dunn North Carolina. "Welcome to the world as I see it. To smile, be happy and laugh as much as possible, that's what life should be about. I hope this shows through my work and makes you feel the same way." Mike

Which E Unit (or was it F---I'm not that good that i can tell) did you get the Southern logo from? Great idea using the logos this way. I'm a volunteer at the Southeastern Railway Museum (Duluth, Georgia), and I had wanted to do something with all those cool signs and logos but couldn't figure out what that would be---this will give me a better jumping off point. Don't worry, it wouldn't look anything like yours because we don't have most of these! Plus I was thinking more of using railroad signs and symbols, etc. Nice work BTW.
Mike McGlothlen replied:
I shot the front of the engine with Southern logo at the NC Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC. I'm glad I could help you with your project, good luck!

This is a nice "collage" I guess you would call this? Love it!
