I guess I have been to Mount Rushmore 8 times through the years. The monument hasn't changed much but the surroundings have. Better roads in and out, a better viewing area, snack bar and of coarse a gift shop. If you haven't seen it, please take time and see it, you'll be glad you did! About Mike McGlothlen
Over the years Mike has dabbled in painting, sculpting & wood working as well as photography. Mike's turning point in his artistic abilities came when he learned how to use the dreaded computer in the mid 80s, then he could combine his love for art with his photographs. Mike's work has won numerous awards as well as being shown all over the country in galleries and museums. Now after 25 years of Commercial Photography in the High Point area, Mike now creates art full time, living just outside of Dunn North Carolina. "Welcome to the world as I see it. I want to thank Roseann Caputo for featuring this image in the group BLACK and WHITE ART. This was shot on an old Calumet 4 x 5 camera, I guess sometime in the 1990s. I just ran across the transparency a few days ago and decided to scan it. I am pleased with the end result and do encourage every one to visit this magical place.
