Artist's Description
This is the top of the colossal marble statue and fountain of the Maine Monument. A 1913 Beaux Arts monument to commemorate the sinking of the battleship Maine in 1898. The statue is located at the entrance of Merchants' Gate, the main gateway into Central Park in New York City.
About Mike McGlothlen
Over the years Mike has dabbled in painting, sculpting & wood working as well as photography. Mike's turning point in his artistic abilities came when he learned how to use the dreaded computer in the mid 80s, then he could combine his love for art with his photographs. Mike's work has won numerous awards as well as being shown all over the country in galleries and museums.
